Pa. Toddler Drowns in Beesleys Point Swimming Pool

BEESLEYS POINT— A 17 month old toddler drowned on Thursday, July 23, at 9:16 a.m., on the 200 block of Route 9 South, according to State Police Sgt. Julian Castellanos.
The toddler identified as Andrew Avellino of Newtown Square, Pa. crawled into an in ground swimming pool at the residence. According to a Castellanos, the toddler was pronounced dead at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point at 1:09 p.m.
Castellanos says the drowning appeared to be accidental and was not suspicious however the Division of Youth and Family Services will investigate the childs death as per protocol.
Troopers from the Woodbine station responded to the scene with the Upper Township Rescue Squad and Atlanticare paramedics.
