NEW YORK CITY– NBC news obtained armature home video of the Aug 8 mid-air collision between an Ocean City bound private plane and a commercial helicopter tour aircraft that crashed over the Hudson River.
The video obtained by NBC was shot by a tourist aboard a boat on the Hudson River at the time of the crash. The video captures the moments before and the stunning impact.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a press conference today they will require pilots to maintain two-way radio communications while flying through the Hudson River corridor.
Six people in the helicopter and three people in the plane were killed in the crash that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg called “not survivable”.
