By Herald Staff

CLERMONT – A Rio Grande man remained in critical condition Sept. 25 after the motorcycle on which he was riding collided with a turning vehicle on Route 9 by milepost 18.2 about 4:14 p.m. Sept. 24.
According to State Police from Woodbine Station, Ryan C. Toler, 24, of Rio Grande was headed south on a 1997 Suzuki motorcycle when Sandra Timmons, 63, of Shamong Township, operating a 2010 Buick Enclave, was making a left turn from the northbound lane toward the parking lot of Garden Greenhouse and Nursery, 1919 Route 9.
Police said she failed to observe and yield to Toler.
When Timmons turned, Toler was unable to stop and struck the rear passenger side door of the Enclave in the southbound lane.
The motorcycle spun clockwise and came to rest on its left side in the southbound shoulder. The Enclave rotated clockwise and also stopped in the southbound shoulder.
Timmons and the passengers with her sustained minor injuries and were taken to Cape Regional Medical Center by Belleplain Rescue Squad.
Toler sustained severe internal injuries and was airlifted to Atlantic City Medical Center.
