Marina Accident Injures Crane Operator

AVALON MANOR — On Thursday, Nov. 20, the Middle Township Police Department responded to Avalon Pointe Marina for a fall victim.
Officers arrived and discovered that a crane while attempting to load on a barge, fell into the bay and ejected the driver off the crane.
The driver of the crane was flown to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City by South Star.
Court House Fire Department, Rio Grande Fire Department, Middle Township EMS, New Jersey State Police Marine Division, Cape May County Office of Emergency Management and Avalon Police Department responded and assisted at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
