Firefighters, Bystanders Resuscitate Man Pulled from Ocean

CAPE MAY CITY— The Cape May City Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a man in cardiac arrest on the 500 block of Beach Avenue on Saturday, Oct 3, at around 4:30 p.m.
According to officials firefighters arrived to find bystanders performing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation at the edge of the water on an unresponsive male who was reportedly in the water for six to ten minutes swimming when he was found floating by family members.
Shortly after medical treatment was taken over by firefighters the man described to be in his late 40’s began to respond to resuscitation efforts and regained a pulse.
Medevac 5 was called to the Cape May City Elementary School where the victim was airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Trauma Center in Atlantic City. The victim is reported to be in critical condition, according to reports.
