CREST HAVEN – A motor vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near Exit 11 resulted in a multi-car crash and road closure Oct. 27.
New Jersey State Police told NBC 10 a dump truck lost control and spilled its load of sludge on the roadway. The truck just finished dredging the water in a nearby body of water.

Due to the slick surface, two cars became involved in a crash.

The Parkway southbound was closed for several hours due to the investigation and clean-up. It reopened around noon.

Drivers, if involved, are being asked to go to the Avalon State Police Substation to file a report.

The crash remains under investigation.
