Driver Hits Tree on Route 347

MAURICE RIVER– Belleplain Emergency Corps were called to the scene of a single vehicle crash here on Route 347 at mile post 7.1 on Saturday, Oct 31 at 9:15 p.m.
According to reports the driver suffered a head injury when the vehicle they were driving left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.
A Medevac helicopter was requested to fly however the flight was aborted due to deteriorating weather conditions.
The driver was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition.
Underwood paramedics and the Leesburg Fire Department also responded.
The accident is under investigation by state troopers at the Port Noris station.
