CLERMONT — An Egg Harbor Township man escaped serious injury Sept. 5 when his car crashed into a house at 2153 Route 9 about 7 a.m.
According to N.J. State Police from Woodbine Station, at about 7:02 a.m. Trooper S. Tetzlaff and Trooper R. Varnadore investigated the accident at milepost 14.
A black Nissan Altima, operated by Yenny Alcantara Rodriguez of Egg Harbor Township was southbound on Route 9 when he passed another vehicle that was in front of him.
When the vehicle returned to the southbound lane, the vehicle failed to maintain a lane, and lost control.
The vehicle proceeded south into the front yard of the residence at 2153 Route 9.
Continuing south, the vehicle struck the residence and came to rest at in the front porch.
As a result of the collision, the residence sustained major damage to its northeast corner.
The Ocean View Volunteer Fire Department and Belleplain Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the scene to assist.
The driver was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for minor injuries, and was later released.
He was also issued multiple summonses due to the fact he was found to be at fault of the accident, police stated.
