GOSHEN — On Dec. 15 at approximately 2:21 a.m., Catlynn Zayon, 19, of Dennisville, was traveling north on Route 47 in Goshen, when she lost control of her 2000 Chrysler Sebring, causing her to cross over the southbound lane then striking a tree. Her vehicle then rolled over into the marsh, where it caught fire.
Zayon was alone at the time, and was able to escape her vehicle, uninjured, where she called Middle Township police, to report the incident. Chief Bob Myers and members of the Goshen Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Middle Township Ambulance Corps also responded to the scene and transported Zayon to Cape Regional Medical Center, for observation.
Troopers from the Woodbine State Police barracks also assisted with traffic control, while Route 47 was shut down, for approximately two hours. Patrolman Jack Trombetta, the investigating officer, issued the driver a careless driving summons. Alcohol was not a factor in this crash investigation.
