Alleged DWI Driver Narrowly Misses Leaf Collector

DIAS CREEK – A Middle Township Public Works employee narrowly missed being struck by a car on Dias Creek Road when a vehicle left the roadway in a Nov. 29 accident.
According to Capt. John Edwards, the vehicle, driven by Susan Colvin, 46, of Villas, was driving west in the 400 block of Dias Creek Rd. at approximately 2:16 p.m. when the it left the roadway and struck several mailboxes and trash cans.
A Public Works employee was on the side of the road collecting leaves, stated Edwards.
“The employee heard the vehicle coming and had to leap out of the way,” stated the captain. “The employee was not struck by the car but sustained injuries when he jumped out of the way.”
Colvin was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated. She was charged with reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. She was released from custody on a summons.
