Accident in Lower Township, One Injured

ERMA – Early in the morning of Nov. 12, Lower Township received a report of a car running into a tree at Breakwater and Carriage.
The Erma Fire Department responded to find the victim entrapped with severe damage to the front end of the car. Erma Fire required two jaws units along with assistance from the Villas Fire Department jaws unit to get the victim out of the car.
Extrication was difficult due to the severity of damage to the car and dashboard. Medic 9 responded along with Lower Township rescue. The victim was transported with medics to Cape Regional; a helicopter was initially called, but was later recalled.
Lower Township Police were on the scene for traffic control and investigation of the accident.
