In 1975, eight Philadelphia firefighters lost their lives while battling the Gulf Oil Refinery fire, a blaze that made national headlines. To continue to honor the memory of those who perished in that horrific inferno – and all firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty – the 34th Annual Firefighters Memorial 5K Run will take place on Sunday, Sept. 28, in Sea Isle City.
This event, which always attracts a large number of runners from across the region, is sponsored by Firefighters Local #22 I.A.F.F. and the City of Sea Isle. The 5K Run begins at 11 a.m. on the Sea Isle City Promenade at JFK Boulevard. There will also be a 1-mile Fun Run for children.
The public is invited to compete in this race. Participants will enjoy a complimentary luncheon buffet and award ceremony following the 5K at The Ocean Drive Beach Club and Restaurant, 3915 Landis Ave. Awards will be distributed.
The pre-registration fee for the 5K is $15 by Sept. 26 and includes a free t-shirt. Race day registration fee is $20 and includes a free t-shirt while supplies last. The same fees apply to walkers; there is no fee for the Kids Run.

Avalon – Look how Trump has junked up the fireplace in the White House with those fake gold add ones. Just like the Taj Mahal which looked like a brothel. Why does he love that fake gold look?
