CAPE MAY – Great white shark Mary Lee returned to our area Memorial Day weekend, and this time she wasn’t alone.
Joining her was Cisco, an 8-foot, 7-inch, 362-pound, immature great white shark. Cisco’s last ping was at 3:43 a.m. May 27 between Rehoboth Beach, Del. and Cape May, according to Ocearch.org.
Mary Lee’s last ping was at 6:29 p.m. May 28 off of the Wildwoods.
Mary Lee, a 16-foot, 3,456-pound great white shark, has traveled a total of 39,641 miles since she was tagged off Cape Cod Sept. 17, 2012.
Cisco has traveled a total of 2,270 miles since he was tagged off Nantucket, Mass. Oct. 7, 2016.
