REVEREND RONALD C.
Rev. Ronald Charles Nelson, age 86 of North Cape May, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at his home with family by his side. He was born January 21, 1938 in Hackensack, NJ.
Rev. Nelson attended Luther College of Bible and Arts (1955, in Teaneck, NJ); Upsala College (Bachelor of Arts, 1960, in East Orange, NJ); Lutheran School of Theology (Bachelor of Divinity, 1964, in Chicago, IL). Rev. Nelson served in the Lutheran Ministry for 42 years (1964-2006). He was Ordained: New Jersey Synod of the Lutheran Church in America (June 1964). He served the Lutheran Church of the Apostles (7 years); Faith Lutheran Church (7 years) and Cape May Lutheran Church (28 years).
Rev, Nelson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan R. Nelson; three sons, David C. Nelson (Kimberly) and their children David Nelson Jr. and Alyssa Shire; Ronald A. Nelson (Laurie) and their children, Brandon Nelson and Parker Nelson: Matthew R. Nelson (Meridith) and their children, Alexandra Nelson, Luke Nelson, Jesse Nelson and Jacob Nelson.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Cape May Lutheran Church, 509 Pittsburgh Avenue, Cape May. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 10 to 11 am. Memorial gifts in his memory may be made to the Cape May Lutheran Church.
