Wildwood Beach Patrol Wins 42nd ‘Around the Island’ Race

Host team North Wildwood Beach Patrol neck and neck with Margate City Beach Patrol when leaving starting point.

NORTH WILDWOOD – The “around the island” also known as the 42nd Annual “Bud Tarbotton” Memorial Around the Island Row was held Aug. 21.
Wildwood Beach Patrol won first place with a time of 2:37:41. The rowing team included Steve McGuinn and Brandon Joyce. They placed first.
Ventnor City Beach Patrol won second place in 2:39:31. That crew was Pat Shober and Brett Hanson.
Alumni Team of Margate City Beach Patrol, Carl Smallwood, and Longport City BP B.J. Fox achieved third place, with a time of 2:39:37. Twenty-three teams from Cape May and Atlantic counties participated in the event.
The North Wildwood Beach Patrol hosted the event.
