Obituary

LORD, EDWARD JOSEPH

LORD,
EDWARD JOSEPH, SR.
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our husband, dad, and Poppop, Edward “Ed” Joseph Lord, Sr.
Ed was born in Sea Isle City, New Jersey in 1943. He was a 1963 graduate of the Middle Township High School and a member of the community his whole life. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cape May Court House.
Ed was a machinist by trade. He started his career many years ago the Dorchester Shipyard. He then went on to work for Deltronics Corporation in Millville, NJ for 47 years before retiring in 2015. Ed was known as the “Pump Man” or the “Pump Wizard” for his knowledge and expertise in his field. He was well respected for his work and the knowledge he passed on to many.
Ed was a quiet, gentle, humble man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, clamming and crabbing. He loved his hummingbirds and enjoyed watching them. He enjoyed watching football, Nascar, and westerns.
His favorite place to be was in his garden. He was very proud of his garden and proud to share his harvest with many people. Over the past few years, Ed passed his gardening skills onto his family and they are proud to continue his legacy.
More than anything Ed enjoyed his time with his family. He loved the family dinners, holidays, BBQs, taking golf cart rides, and just spending time together.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents John and Kathryn Lord and his brother John Robert Lord.
Ed will be missed by many especially his loving wife and friend of 58 years Lillian (nee Barnett); his children Kim (Tim) Champion, Lisa (Andrew) Ludman, and Edward Jr. (Tracy) Lord; his grandchildren Kelsey (Scott), Emily (Tommy), Drew, Alexa, Dakota, and Eddie III. He will also be missed by his favorite girl, great granddaughter Bailey.
Ed is also survived by his sisters Kay (Pidge) McClure and Linda (Bill) Simpson, his brothers Charles (Alice) Lord and David (Cathy) Lord; his sister-in-law Sharon Herman; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Bayada Nurses for the great care they provided.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Cape May Court House.
