Linden Lane Rezoned to Allow for House Additions

STONE HARBOR – The Borough Council has created a new zoning district for Linden Lane, an action that will allow modest homes to add a second story as long as they comply with all other borough requirements.

Linden Lane has long been grouped with a set of narrow streets in the borough collectively known as The Courts. As part of the zoning requirements for The Courts, owners of some modest homes on Linden Lane have been prohibited from constructing second stories.

The ordinance adopted by the council March 19 creating residential D zoning for the street allows for limited second stories in accordance with earlier recommendations from the borough’s Planning Board in its master plan reexamination. The new zoning applies only to Linden Lane.
