Wins from the Week: April 20-23

Baseball:
Cape May Tech hosted Pleasantville on April 20 and won, 13-2. Carson Denham hit a home run for the Hawks to go along with two RBIs and two runs scored. Mike Brown and Cooper Gehring each had two RBIs for the Hawks. Mike Paluch earned the win as pitcher only allowing three hits.
Lower Cape May earned their first win of the season, 6-5, against Pleasantville on April 23. Brennan Ray led the Caper Tigers with three RBIs, two runs scored and a double. Dave MacDonald earned the win as pitcher.
Middle Township blanked Camden Tech, 16-0, on April 23. Sean Dougherty had four RBIs, a triple and a double for the Panthers. Zach Wyatt struck out six with Aaron Garcia closing out the game.
Cape May Tech earned a 15-2 win against Bridgeton on April 23. Carson Denham and James Longstreet had three RBIs for the Hawks. Mike Paluch had seven strikeouts on the mound.
Golf:
Lower Cape May won a close 189-190 match with St. Joseph on April 20. Kolby Carter had a birdie for the Caper Tigers.
Ocean City won 153-213 against Atlantic City on April 20. Jack Sullivan had a birdie for the Red Raiders.
Middle Township won 171-202 against Oakcrest on April 20. Andrew Kapp, Peter Conlin and PJ Schulte each had birdies for the Panthers.
Lower Cape May won 164-258 against Buena Regional on April 23. Kolby Carter, Chris Hollandsworth and Jack Perry each had birdies for the Caper Tigers.
Boys Tennis:
The Middle Township boys tennis team continued their win streak by winning the 2018 Cape May Boys Tennis Tournament on April 21. This marks the eleventh straight year the Panthers have won the tournament. They remain unbeaten at 10-0 as of April 23.
Girls Lacrosse:
Middle Township’s Kira Sides scored her 100th career goal in April 20’s home game against Atlantic City. Sides led the team with eight goals and three assists in the Lady Panthers’ 20-11 win.
Danielle Donoghue scored her 100th career goal in Ocean City’s 17-4 win against Bishop Eustace on April 21. Donoghue had three goals and four assists on the day.
Boys Lacrosse:
Lower Cape May blanked Vineland, 18-0, on April 20. Chuckie Magill led the Caper Tigers with three goals and two assists.
Middle Township’s head coach Tom Griffin earned his 100th career win in the team’s 5-4 win against Woodstown on April 23. Ryan Nagle led the Panthers with two goals. Miguel Abarca made eighteen stops in net.
Ocean City won 13-3 against Absegami on April 23. Christian Kuhn led the Red Raiders with four goals. Charlie Dahl made six saves.
Softball:
Middle Township won 15-1 against Atlantic City on April 21. Sam Grassi had three RBIs and scored two runs while Kayla Cubernot had two RBIs and a run scored.
