SEA ISLE CITY — Each summer, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization hosts a Volleyball League on the 35th Street beach. This year, six teams competed in the co-ed league: Gardiner’s Plumbing, DeNunzio’s Brick Oven Pizza, Spinners Pizza Ice Cream Grille, The Shoobies, The Setting Ducks and Diamonds Liquor Store.
The league ran from early July through Aug. 14, when a championship match was played between The Setting Ducks and Spinners Pizza Ice Cream Grille. In the end, Spinners took home the championship trophy – for the fourth year in a row!
The members of Team Spinners are Ryan Maguire, 27, of Galloway Township, Stephanie Hildebrand, 23, of Washington Township, Danielle Locatelli, 23, of Old Bridge, NJ, Bobby Locatelli, 27, of Old Bridge, NJ, Ryan Kiska, 22, of Egg Harbor Township and Erik White, 30, of Broomall, PA.
“It was a great match,” said Spinners Team Captain Bobby Locatelli, who manages Spinners, his family’s business. “The wind was a factor during the championship, but everyone had a good time.”
