OCEAN CITY — Walt Homan, owner of Ward’s Pastry, enthralls young visitors to his bakery with samples of shaving cream pies that will be used at the annual PieAsco following the Doo Dah Parade on April 16.
“It’s like this,” says Walt, “you sit in grandstands in front of the Music Pier and smoosh each other in the face shaving Cream Pies!” Judging from the kids’ reaction, they will be there, right Mom?
“Yeah, why not?” ask Ward employees Yvette Claudio and Taylor Leotta observing from a safe distance. “It’s lots of fun!”
The PieAsco honors the late Soupy Sales, a perennial supporter of Doo Dah who pied celebrities on his syndicated TV show years ago.
