Phillies Ink OC Lefty McKenna

OCEAN CITY – A local left-hander may earn the chance to play for his favorite, hometown baseball team.
According to published reports, Jake McKenna, a senior pitcher for Ocean City High School, signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Phillies June 14.
McKenna signed his contract after Major League Baseball concluded its 2020 draft. The lefty chose the Phillies over several other pro teams, including the Milwakee Brewers, Miami Marlins and Kansas City Royals.
Before signing his contract, McKenna comitted to St. Joseph’s University, in Philadelphia.
