O.C. Basketball Sweeps Cedar Creek; L.C.M. Wins at Tech & More Wednesday Night Results

The Ocean City High School boys and girls basketball continued their respective hot streaks by posting wins against Cedar Creek on Jan. 31.
The boys earned their seventh straight win with a 81-49 over the visiting Pirates. Donovan Graham led the hosts with 20 points with Luke Varallo adding 11 and Tom Jamison adding 10 points. The Red Raiders are 13-3.
The girls earned a 50-30 road win at the Pirates. Emma Finnegan led the team with 12 points and Danielle Donoghue added 10 points. The Lady Red Raiders are 12-4.
The Lower Cape May boys basketball team won 69-56 at rival Cape May Tech on Jan. 31. Pat Holden led all scorers with 25 points and Martin Anguelov chipped in 14 points for the Caper Tigers. For the Hawks, Josh Wright scored 18 points and Ray Abbott had 14 points. The Caper Tigers improve to 14-4 and the Hawks are an even 9-9 on the season so far.
In wrestling action on Jan. 31, Middle Township won a close match, 42-36, at Lakewood. Senior Gary James Nagle tied 2009 grad Chris White’s all-time school win record with 88 wins. The Panthers will travel to Burlington City on Feb. 2 where Nagle will attempt to break the record. The team is at an overall record of 12-3.
