CAPE MAY- The 26th Annual Cape May Beachfront Run was held Saturday Sept. 26 with a two mile and five mile course on Beach Avenue.
Skies were mostly sunny with a strong north wind.
Top male winner for the two mile run was Karl Dusen, 27, of Rockville, Md. with a time of 5:24. He who also won the five mile run 45 minutes later with a record breaking time of 26:15., beating the old record by one minute. Mike Leathers took second place in the male division with Matthew McGaffney in third place in the five mile run.
Elimy Dusen, 26, of Rockville, Md. won the female 5 mile run with a record breaking time of 31:01 with Kimmy Leathers taking second place and Anne McCarthy in third.
Kimmy Leathers, 26, of Cape May, a Coast Guard member, won the female category in the two mile run with a time of 7:14.
The two mile run started and ended in front of Cape May Convention Hall, turning just beyond Pittsburgh Avenue for the return loop.
The five mile run was two lengths of Beach Avenue, also starting and ending in front of Convention Hall.
