Girls’ Soccer
In Nov. 4 games, Gateway Regional defeated Wildwood, 6-0, in the South Jersey Group I first round. Leishly Reyes stopped five shots.
Roselle Catholic defeated Wildwood Catholic, 4-1, in parochial playoff action. Gabby Johnson scored. Lauren Moretti stopped a dozen shots.
Ocean City defeated Seneca, 2-0. Veronica Garcia scored twice. Kristi Rohrer assisted once. Arianna Segich stopped 10 shots.
In Nov. 7 South Jersey Group II quarterfinal play, Middle Township toppled Deptford, 3-0. Charley Hengstler scored the game-winner. Rachel Wade and Emma Stanford also scored. Krista Salvadore stopped six shots.
Delran surprised top seed Lower Cape May, 3-1, in South Jersey Group II quarterfinal play. Madie Gibson scored. Lizzy Sulecki stopped 15 shots.
Timber Creek shocked Ocean City, 1-0. Arianna Segich stopped four shots.
Boys’ Soccer
In Nov. 5 play, Middle Township stopped Pleasantville, 3-0, in South Jersey Group II quarterfinal action. Joe Fala, Trent Canter and Christian Rafter scored. Canter also contributed two assists. Nik Anagnou stopped five shots.
In Nov. 7 action, Pingry School defeated Wildwood Catholic, 5-0, in South Jersey Non-Public B quarterfinal play.
In Nov. 7 play, Ocean City ripped Pinelands Regional, 4-0, in a South Jersey Group III quarterfinal contest. Ryan Beebe, Aaron King, Tommy Matera and Collin Noble scored. Donnie VanMeter had two assists. Russell Lindsay stopped four shots.
Field Hockey
In Nov. 4 play, Ocean City thrashed Central Regional, 13-0, in South Jersey Group III semi-final action. Rialee Allen scored five goals. Kelly Hanna scored twice while Lauren McNally added a goal and three assists.
In Nov. 5 action, Delsea Regional defeated Lower Cape May, 3-1, in the South Jersey Group II playoffs. Carrie Wunder scored. Kamelyn Pearson stopped eight shots.
Woodstown defeated Middle Township, 3-0, in Group II play. Annie Mallet made seven saves.
In Nov. 7 play, Ocean City won its 13th South Jersey Group III Championship with a 2-0 decision over Hammonton. The 21-1 Red Raiders received goals from Rialee Allen and Jordan Allegretto.
Football
In Nov. 7 games, Buena stopped Lower, 39-8.
Bridgeton outscored Middle, 49-21. Joe Durso ran for a score and tossed a 65-yard touchdown to Jimmy Versage. Shawn Scott ran 34 yards for Middle’s other score.
Pitman edged Wildwood, 15-12. Abdiel Richards ran 70 and 60 yards, respectively, for Warrior touchdowns.
Cross Country
Ocean City’s Devon Grisbaum won the South Jersey Group III title, Nov. 8, at Delsea Regional. The senior ran the 3.1 mile course in just over 18 minutes.
Brandon Hadtke of Ocean City took fifth in the Group III race. Middle’s Ryan Herlihy was fifth in the Group II competition. Wildwood’s Trevor Gentek was 10th in Group I.
In boys’ team rankings, Middle took second in Group II while Ocean City was second in Group III. The OC girls took second in Group III.
Cape Express Scores
In girls’ Cape Express action, the U-8 Showstoppers met Harrison. Ainsley Reed, Maddie Gilbert, Carmen O’Hara, Isabella Lund, Reagan Gittle, Siana King, Olivia Lewis, Keily Sanchez, Reagan Flickinger and Anna Delaney led the squad.
The U-9 Wolfpack played Cherry Hill. Brooke Nabb, Katie Mac, Sofia Sgrignioli, Ella McCabe, Ella Rulon and Kate Grier led the ‘pack.
The U-10 Surf tangled with the South Jersey Elite Barons. Ava Southard, Ciara Dimauro and Maddy Monteleone led the Surf.
The U-11 Sand Sharks dropped a 6-1 decision to Moorestown. Molly McGuigan assisted on a Maddie Majors goal.
The U-12 Comets battled Marlton to a 0-0 score. Brynn Bock, Isabella Aftanis, Carly Lashley, Victoria Hutchison, Carmen Licata, Jordan Dougherty, Madison Haring, Stephanie Carey and Riley Fisher led the Comets.
The U-13 Herricanes tied Rancocas Valley, 1-1. Kira Sides, Gina Geraci, Lauren Nelson, Emily Mendel, Laine Burgin, and Marianna Popzoglou led the Herricanes.
In boys’ play, the U-8 Hammerheads met Highland. Eddie Hirsch, Wyatt Hand, Tighe Olek, Kelan Miller, Joe Berrodin, Donnie Nelson and Chase Critchfield led the way.
The U-8 Riptide played Moorestown. Simon Hardin scored. Bryson Keating-Horin, Brandyn Acevedo and Colin Jastremski led the defense.
The U-9 Breakers met Marlton. Noah Plenn and Kai Lindsay scored. Deron Azille and Tommy Shagren assisted. Anthony Trombetta and Ashton Quinn shared the net.
The U-10 Blitz tangled with Egg Harbor Township. Jimmy Kane scored. Evan Merritt, Devon Bock, Ryan Dougherty and Drew Nelson led the way.
The U-11 Union tied Marlton, 1-1. Ryan Turner turned in another outstanding performance in goal. Austin Carr, Tommy Carr, Troy Genero and Eddie Lords led the squad. Chile Adams assisted on a goal by Matt Hays.
The U-12 Force dropped a 6-1 decision to Haddon Heights. Eurbey Sanchez Nunez scored. Justin Lopez, Oscar Sanchez and Antonio Melendez led the Force.
The U-12 United defeated Moorestown, 1-0. Bryce Reidenbach scored. Donovan Richardson was strong at sweeper.
