CODY, WYO. – Keith Forrest, an associate professor of communication at Atlantic Cape Community College, finished second in the annual Tails and Trails 5K here Aug. 15 earning the 50th medal of his running career.
Five members of the Forrest family completed the race with Forrest’s 9-year-old daughter Madeline medaling in the 12 and under female category. The event, to benefit West Park Hospital, was a challenge since the altitude of Cody is almost a mile up, producing much thinner air than in New Jersey.
Forrest is a two-time recipient of the “Faculty of the Year Award” at Atlantic Cape and the co-founder of the college’s communication program.
A Cape May native and alumni of Lower Cape May Regional High School, Forrest has earned medals in numerous distances including 2-miles, 5-miles, half marathons and marathons.
Forrest is the son of the late “Joyride” columnist Libby Demp Forrest Moore, who wrote a column in the Herald for more than 20 years.
He has created many of the communication courses at Atlantic Cape including Popular Music and Radio History and Television History.
