Hearing Rescheduled On Rescued Dogs

By Herald Staff

One of the dogs recently rescued from the home of Victor Cruz in Woodbine, Petey, shown here on a walk with his new owner, is doing very well. Petey is one of several dogs rescued through a coordinated effort by Cape May County Animal Shelter Alliance, the SPCA and Beacon Animal Rescue. Cruz relinquished several dogs, all reportedly found neglected and starving at his home, but is fighting to get back others. A hearing is scheduled for November. The other two dogs have gone through heart worm treatment and one had a very difficult time. All the pups of emaciated Ginger have been altered and are being adopted, but Ginger still needs a home. Her life, like all the other dogs on the property. was living on chains in filth and mud, according to Linda Gentile of the Alliance, with parasite and flea infestation. Ginger is a very sweet dog but needs to go to a home with no other pets. For more information, or to adopt Ginger, call 390-7946.
