Close encounters of the toothy kind

By On Deck Staff

Experience a close encounter of the toothy kind over dinner at the Wetlands Institute Friday, Oct. 30.
Great White Sharks won’t be on the menu, but they will be on the program at a covered dish dinner with Dean Fessler of the Shark Research Institute as he takes everyone beneath the waves off South Africa and face to face with the ocean’s top predators.
Dinner is at 6 p.m., 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor. Bring an entrée, salad or dessert to share with at least eight people.
Reservations needed by Oct. 29, call 609-368-1211. Cost is $5 members; $10 nonmembers.
And don’t forget, the Wetlands Institute is perfect for holiday parties.
From Dec. 1 to the 23, the Wetlands Institute’s March View Hall is beautifully decorated in the natural theme of the wetlands with delicate lights, balsam wreaths, a huge tree and the welcoming scents of the holidays.
It’s the perfect setting for office parties, children’s parties and reunions with modern kitchen facilities and off-street parking.
For information and availability call Lysa Fleming, 609-368-1211.
