Questions for Shed Buyers

By Sponsored

When purchasing a new shed, one of the biggest decisions you’ll make is how large or small it should be.
To determine the best size, you’ll need to consider several factors.
What is the Shed’s Primary Use?
Storage is not the only reason to get a shed these days. These adaptable structures can also serve as a workshop, a man cave/she shed, or even a guest house. Knowing what furniture you will use or what activities will take place in your shed is the first step in determining the size you need.
How Big is Your Property?
You now have some idea of what your dream shed will be used for, and maybe even have a size in mind. The next step is to make sure you have enough space for it. One way to do this is to stake out the area where you would like the shed with flags. This will help you visualize how much of your yard will be covered by the new structure.
What are Your Community and Township Regulations?
Before purchasing, it is always a good idea to check with your township and homeowner’s organization to ensure the size of the shed you are considering is allowed, and what kind of set-backs may be required. For example, many townships require a shed to be placed at least 4 feet away from your rear and side property lines, and a certain distance from your house.
