DIY Dresser Redo

After

By Designed and Executed by Kay C. Sagal of West Wildwood

Kay C. Sagal found a way to turn one man’s trash into her own treasure, creating a smart and gorgeous storage solution from a beat up, old dresser. The dresser was to be thrown away, but she loved the detail and the shape of the dresser and imagined something more for it. She decided to paint it her favorite color, teal blue, and use it to store her craft supplies. It now sits in her living room at her home in West Wildwood as a focal point and a conversation piece. Here are the steps Kay C. took to create this beautiful addition to her home:
Step 1: First, she sanded the dresser and drawers.
Step 2: Next, she primed the dresser and drawers.
Step 3: Then, she painted the dresser and drawers her favorite color, teal blue.
Step 4: After that, she applied antiquing glaze to the dresser and drawers to give the furniture a distressed look and show all of the details in the wood.
Step 5: Lastly, she spray painted the hardware with gold spray paint.
Total Cost: Approximately $75
