Settling down
after our long Christmas trek
still wrapped in winter chill
with snowflakes gently clinging
along the coldest edges
of our wraps
we sit in a warming huddle
hugging hot mugs of cocoa
and watch as the frost slowly climbs
and decorates each window
while thoughts of far away
warm exotic places
takes their place in our heads
pushing aside the cold reality
of our view. . .
Ah! Sweet Dreams tonight
as our imaginations take flight…
Then so soon we do awake
safe from those sweet escapes
to greet each other and say:
Good morning, Merry Christmas, I love You; and kiss and reminisce on Christmas day!
