When thinking of the birth of Christ
We remember Mary and Jesus
Often Joseph is forgotten
Whom God chose to help fulfill
The prophecy of the Old Testament
Joseph listened and obeyed God
And took Mary to be his wife
Having to go to Bethlehem
He took Mary with him, fulfilling
Micah 5:2 where Christ would be born
“Go to Egypt” God told Joseph
He left taking Mary and Jesus
Staying there till God said,
“It was safe to go Nazareth”
As the Old Testament prophesied
He shall be called a Nazarene.
