Don’t Forget

By Herald Staff

By Mary Sprague.
Remember to get that last gift
Hang those lights you promised to finish last week
Wrap those gifts with ribbons and bows
Bake those cookies crisp
Put the tree up straight and hang the angel on top
Buy all those stamps and send those cards
What else is on the list?
When you are putting up those lights and decorating that tree
Close your eyes and say a prayer
That you don’t forget about me!
I came down as a baby to make things right
I am the greatest gift you could ask for!
Don’t forget about me
Sing praises and give gifts to those in need
It is my birthday you see.
Lord I won’t forget what you’ve done for me
I won’t forget what this day is really for
I will remind everyone around me too
I won’t get caught up in it anymore.
I will shout from the highest mountaintop
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
