COURT HOUSE — Middle Township children of all ages greeted Santa at the end of the Christmas in Court House parade Dec. 7.
The crowd of well-wishers lined Main Street to welcome the North Pole’s top resident, while Mrs. Claus sat by a decorated tree inside Middle Township Hall where children colored and nibbled on holiday cookies. In the front hall, township employees greeted parade goers with hot chocolate and goodies.
Middle Township Panther Marching Band provided music along the parade route.
Pastor Rudy, of Lighthouse Church, offered a prayer before Mayor Daniel Lockwood and Santa joined to light the Christmas tree on South Boyd Street.
Inside the bay of the former firehouse, Tree of Life decorated trees, made by various civic groups, were viewed by spectators, some of who placed bids to buy the trees.
At the corner of the municipal building, Raff’s Recycling upheld its longstanding tradition, and gave away bags of roasted chestnuts to parade goers.
Shortly after the tree was lit, with red, white and blue lights to honor veterans, Santa moved to a covered canopy where he heard wishes of youngsters.
