WILDWOOD – To help promote social distancing to help contain the Coronavirus/COVID-19, the Wildwood Police Department is putting in place the following temporary protocols until further notice.
According to a release, If there is a police or medical emergency, call 9-1-1. Make sure to stay on the line and answer all questions asked by the 9-1-1 dispatcher.
Anyone having a non-emergency and who needs to make a police report, call the non-emergency number 609-522-0222.
An officer will respond to the caller’s location to take the report. When the officer arrives, he/she will ask the caller to step outside to speak with them.
They will not enter the residence unless there is an immediate reason to do so.
Those who need of a copy of a police report or accident report, call the records department at 609-522-0222 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. If there is no answer,  leave a message clearly stating name and phone number, and the records clerk will return the call. The records clerk will be able to email, fax, or mail the copy of the report requested.
If it is necessary to visit the Wildwood Police Department for any reason, individuals will be asked to wait outside of the police department and an officer will speak with them in front of the department.
The goal of putting these temporary policies in place is to help reduce unnecessary person-to-person contact to help reduce the risk of transmission of the CoronaVirus/COVID-19.
