Rainbow Pediatrics, in partnership with Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), provides free well exams and vaccines to those in need all year round
RIO GRANDE – It doesn’t have to be the holidays for Rainbow Pediatrics to be in the spirit of giving. Throughout the year, in partnership with Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), Rainbow Pediatrics provides more than 500 free well exams and almost 1,000 vaccines for free to children in need at their Rio Grande office.
VIM, a free health care clinic for eligible residents of Cape May County who are uninsured or underinsured, has been a part of the county for over a decade. The clinic focuses on primary health care, emphasizing disease prevention, health promotion and education, and patient accountability.
The partnership with VIM enables Rainbow Pediatrics to provide medical coverage, well visits and vaccines to families who many have a lapse in medical insurance or may be without any insurance, free of charge. This ensures that children in desperate need get their medication and all health services at Rainbow Pediatrics.
“The priority for us is happy, healthy children – and we don’t want to see insurance or financial issues that so many of the area’s families experience to stand in the way of that goal. VIM is an essential program that Rainbow is proud to be in partnership with,” said Thomas Dierkes, MD – one of eight pediatricians at Rainbow.
The skilled and professional pediatricians at Rainbow Pediatrics work to keep children happy and healthy at three convenient office locations – Egg Harbor Township, Clermont and Rio Grande. Their mission is to provide superior pediatric care to infants, children and adolescents in a friendly and compassionate atmosphere. The staff feels that it is important for children to receive regular checkups and timely vaccines. When both parents work during the week, it can be difficult to book an appointment during regular office hours. Rainbow extends their hours on Saturdays to make sure all patients receive an appointment.
Whether your child is sick or suffering from an injury, Rainbow Pediatrics has the tools and expertise to address their developing needs and keep them growing healthy and happy. They accept nearly all insurance and can schedule same-day appointments for sick children. Office hours at Rainbow Pediatrics are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
