Rainbow Pediatrics & Immunizations: Fewer Injections Mean Happier, Healthy Kids

When it comes to your children, Rainbow Pediatrics – a full-service, premier pediatric care facility located in Egg Harbor Township, Clermont and Rio Grande – understands that there is nothing more important than their health and well-being.
Immunizations are an important step in preventative care for your child, and nowhere are these vaccines administered in a more streamlined fashion than at Rainbow Pediatrics, minimizing the number of injections and office visits.
“We believe that when we can avoid administering multiple vaccines to a child, we should – it is just as effective, and results in much happier children and parents,” said Rainbow Pediatrics Pediatrician Thomas Dierkes.
Because Rainbow Pediatrics is an independently owned/operated care facility, it can secure vaccinations containing multiple vaccines, versus the one vaccine per injection.
For example, at 4 years old a child will require the DtaP vaccine, the Polio vaccine, the MMR vaccine and the Varicella vaccine. Typically these are administered via four separate injections. At Rainbow, it would only require two injections, and at four years of age, two injections versus four injections can make a big difference.
“This method not only minimizes the number of injections, but also reduces the pain and stress typically associated with vaccines suffered by both the children and parents,” said Dr. Dierkes.
With the recent outbreak of measles, Dr. Dierkes could not stress enough the importance of scheduling vaccinations for children, no matter where or by what method they are administered.
“Immunizations are not only essential to protecting children from preventable diseases, but are required to enroll children in most daycare programs and public schools,” he stated. By having a pediatrician in place when your baby is born, you are ensuring their ongoing health and well-being; and will have a guide from birth to 18 and beyond to keep their immunizations on schedule and advise on nutrition and other essential needs to bring up a healthy, happy child.
Rainbow Pediatrics is ready to care for your child – and answer any questions you many have about their immunizations – with convenient hours (including Saturdays), 24-hour on-call availability, three locations and a team of licensed and highly skilled pediatricians.
Rainbow Pediatrics assures that your child will be cared for within a nurturing and comfortable culture of teamwork and conscientiousness that emphasizes both good health and illness prevention.
