Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Screenings Scheduled for Sept. 16 at Cape Regional Medical Center

By Press Release

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Appointments are now being taken for the Friday, September 16, 2016 PAD screening program at Cape Regional Medical Center. Please call Bonnie Kratzer, Center for Lifestyle Management Coordinator, at (609) 463-4043 to schedule your appointment.
A brief history of symptoms and current health conditions will be requested when patients call for an appointment. The 15-minute ultrasound screening procedure is noninvasive and involves taking blood pressures of your arms and pressures with ultrasound readings of your ankles.
This free screening program is offered from 9 a.m. until noon at the Medical Center on the date noted. Patients are asked to enter through the outpatient entrance.
Who should schedule an appointment? Individuals who experience a feeling of heaviness or pain in their legs while walking. A common cause of such leg pain may be poor circulation or peripheral artery disease (PAD). This condition affects nearly 10 million Americans. If not treated, PAD can impair your ability to walk or lead to other serious conditions.
