VILLAS – Members of the Lower Township Office of Emergency Management recently met with Superintendent Joseph Castelucci of the Lower Cape May Regional School District (LCMR) and Superintendent Jeff Samaniego of the Lower Township Elementary School District to review their schools’ emergency readiness plans for food service distribution.
According to a release, each school district is required to continue to provide food services to their students on the free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch program.
All municipal O.E.M. coordinators must sign off on their schools emergency plans prior to the implementation.
Effective March 17 through March 30, 2020 the Lower Township Elementary School District will set up “Grab and Go” food distribution points for their students at the following locations.
Both breakfast and lunch may be picked up at this time. Parents may receive up to five days’ worth of food in one stop if they wish.

To service the Wildwood area, they will have a bus at the following locations at the following times:
· 9 – 10 a.m. — Intersection of Route 47 and Shawcrest Road
· 10 to 11 a.m. — Corner of Park Avenue and Hand Avenue — Wildwood
· 11 a.m. to noon — Corner of Rochester Avenue and Pacific Avenue – Diamond Beach

The Food Distribution Points will also be monitored by the CMC OEM and the CMC Department of Health.
I would like to thank our school superintendents and their staffs for the work they have put into their emergency plans to ensure continued food distribution to all of children in Lower Township who may require it during this time.
On the first day of the “Grab and Go” program LTES provided 250 breakfasts and 250 lunches to students in the township, according to Edward P. Donohue, Lower Township, Office of Emergency Management.
