‘HopeOne’ Vehicle Coming to Rio Grande July 3

‘HopeOne’ Vehicle

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – Recent rollout of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Mobile Community Outreach Vehicle, “HopeOne – Cape May County,” was a huge success for the community, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland in a release.
Sutherland stated the success was a direct result of the collaborative efforts of all the agencies who worked together, which included Cape Assist Center for Addiction Recovery Education and Success, Christians United for Recovery (CURE), Cape Counseling Behavioral Healthcare Services, Cape Addiction Recovery Services (CARES) and Access to Reproductive Care and HIV Services (ARCH).
On July 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., HopeOne will travel to Rio Grande and set up in the parking lot of the Rio Station Restaurant, located at 3505 Route 9 South, Rio Grande. HopeOne will bring addiction services to families and persons in need of help struggling with addiction to dangerous drugs such as opioids.
HopeOne is staffed by a county detective, licensed clinician, certified peer recovery specialist and ARCH nurse who understand the needs of those suffering with addiction. HopeOne will provide clients immediate access to services and treatment facilities, putting them on the road to recovery and wellness prior to having contact with law enforcement and  avoiding an overdose, which too often results in death.
In addition, training for Naloxone (referred to as Narcan) will be administered on site by ARCH nurses employed by South Jersey Aids Alliance and kits will be provided to family members and friends of those suffering with opioid addiction upon completion of the training.
HopeOne’s goal is to provide addiction services to clients prior to them having contact with the criminal justice system, and most importantly, preventing people from overdosing on these dangerous drugs.
Sutherland urged community members to stop by HopeOne, grab a refreshment and speak to one of the staff to become more informed and possibly be equipped with the tools to help save someone’s life.
