COURT HOUSE — The annual Healthcare Resource Day, sponsored by the Cape May County Health Department will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. April 10 at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
The event is a unique, once a year opportunity to visit with 40 local healthcare organizations that provide a wide variety of services and products in Cape May County – medical care, home care, recovery services, wellness services, children’s programs, support groups, rehabilitation centers and elder care. Also, some exhibitors will have giveaways.
The Day features two presentations. Dr. Joseph Friedberg, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania will speak on “Lung Cancer Prevention and Treatment” and at 1 p.m. Joan Rowland, will present “Cancer Fighting Foods.”
Additionally, there will be free screenings for cholesterol, blood sugar, circulatory health, blood pressure, and fracture risk.
The public will have an opportunity to learn of the wide variety of services offered by the Cape May County Health Department (many free or at low cost) such as child health services, children’s clinics, family planning services and a comprehensive physical therapy department.
