Dr. Caruso Becomes Affiliate Partner With Kremer Eye Center

By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY COURTHOUSE – Dr. Michael Caruso, ophthalmic physician and surgeon at Atlantic Eye Center, is now an affiliate partner for Lasik Surgery at Kremer Eye Center in Cherry Hill, N.J. Dr. Caruso will provide pre-surgery consultations and post-operative care for Lasik patients who will be treated at the Cherry Hill location by Kremer surgeons.
“Kremer Eye Center pioneered the co-management partnership affiliation with tri-state optometrists and physicians to offer the best quality care and convenience for all our patients,” said Dr. Carol Hoffman, Medical Director of Kremer Eye Center in Cherry Hill, N.J. and Wilmington, Del. and a board-certified ophthalmologist and corneal specialist. “We welcome Dr. Michael Caruso and Atlantic Eye Center to our Affiliate family.”
Dr. Caruso is a leading name in ophthalmic and surgical eye care in South Jersey. The board-certified ophthalmologist, doctor of medicine and eye surgeon is trained to perform total eye care, from routine eye exams to disease diagnosis, prescription treatments and surgery. His specialties include cataract, refractive and Lasik surgery. Dr. Caruso was the first doctor in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland Counties to perform Lasik surgery, and now under the partnership with Kremer Eye Center, Dr. Caruso will meet with patients to determine if they are good candidates for LASIK surgery.
“LASIK is not for everyone,” said Dr. Caruso. “Your eyes must be healthy and your prescription stable. You should be at least 18 years of age and not pregnant or nursing. The type of correction needed and your expectations for the surgery also play a part.
Patients return to Dr. Caruso for a series of post-operative consultations. “This way, everything is close to home,” he said. “Patients get the benefit of the cutting-edge approach at Kremer Eye Center and the personal relationship with their local ophthalmologist.”
Kremer Eye Center, founded in 1980, performed the first LASIK procedure in North America in 1993, was the first in the region to make LASIK 100 percent blade free in 2004 by introducing intraLase bladeless technology, and was the first in 2014 to use iFS Advanced bladeless technology, making LASIK safer, faster and more precise. Kremer remains committed to utilizing the most advanced technologies and procedures to accelerate recovery time and improve patients’ outcomes and vision. There are a variety of ways LASIK can be performed to correct most degrees of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Kremer exclusively performs Custom Bladeless LASIK using iFS advanced bladeless technology guided by WaveFront measurements. WaveFront measurements are unique, like your fingerprint or DNA. WaveFront technology creates a 3-D map of your eye that encompasses the entire optical system, much more than just your eyeglass prescription, and allows Kremer surgeons to treat minute irregularities in the eye that traditional LASIK does not. This greatly reduces the chance of glare or halos and offers patients a chance to see 20/20 or better. FDA studies show WaveFront Guided custom LASIK may produce better vision than is possible with contact lenses or glasses. Kremer provides alternatives for patients who may not be LASIK candidates (due to corneal thickness), which include PRK, LASek, Epi-LASIK and the Visian ICL (implantable collamer lens).
