Court Operations Revised in Atlantic, Cape May Counties Related to COVID-19 as of March 25, 2020

COURT HOUSE – Because of concerns related to COVID-19 / coronavirus, there will be no in-person court proceedings except for emergent matters. Non-emergent matters will be conducted using phone or video conferencing. Staff are working remotely answering phones and emails.
According to a release from the Atlantic-Cape May Vicinage:
For emergent matters, email AtlEmergent.mbx@njcourts.gov for Atlantic County or CpmEmergent.mbx@njcourts.gov for Cape May County.  
For instructions on how to file an emergent application, visit https://www.njcourts.gov/selfhelp/emergent.html.    
For all other inquiries, contact the courts at 609-402-0100, Ext. 47220.

The court offices are closed for in-person submissions.  Instead of filing in person:

· Filings can be dropped off (filing fees are currently waived for self-represented litigants) in a drop-box located in the courthouse lobby or emailed to the emergent email addresses listed above. For NJ Court Forms visit: https://www.njcourts.gov/selfhelp/catalog.html

·Child support payments should be paid by check or money order and mailed to: NJFSPC at P.O. Box 4880, Trenton, NJ 08650-4880. Please include your case number (ex. CS12345678A) in the memo line. Information on alternative payment options such as credit, debit and cash are available on the njchildsupport.org/payment options website.

· Probation payments of fees, fines and restitution should be made out to: Treasurer State of New Jersey and mailed to: Atlantic County Civil Courthouse, Finance Division-1st floor, 1201 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City, NJ  08401 OR Cape May County Superior Courthouse, Finance Division-1st floor, 9 N. Main Street., Cape May Courthouse, NJ  08210.

· Domestic violence restraining orders and Extreme Risk Protective Orders (ERPOs) should be filed with the local police department.
