Nearly 200 area residents spent a cool Saturday learning more about services offered in Cape May County and beyond. Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Erma, Lower Township, hosted its first Community Resource Day on February 18. Over 40 governmental, non-profit, and service organizations filled the church’s Michael Hall gym with tables of information and one-on-one conversations with residents from Cape May and Atlantic Counties. The exhibitors also sponsored nearly 100 free meals for those attending provided from the on-site food truck.
Tabernacle member and the event’s organizer, Steve Bistak says that “every exhibitor that I talked to was very enthusiastic and said that this should be done every year and they would be back. The energy and excitement in the room was noticeable. They used words like ‘outstanding’ and ‘excellent’ to describe the event.
