‘Watercolors that Glow’ classes at county libraries

By On Deck Staff

The Cape May County Library will offer free “Watercolors that Glow” classes to the public under the tutelage of artist Anna Marie Zabielski.
Classes will be held Mondays, April 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 3-5 p.m. at the Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas, 886-8999; Saturdays, May 2, 9, 16 and 30 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Upper Cape Branch Library, 2050 Route 631, Petersburg, 628-2607; and on Thursdays, June 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 4-6 p.m. at the Main Library, 30 Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, 463-6350.
Students will paint with bright, clear colors on traditional watercolor paper. Two of the classes focus on painting flowers from life, developing a design, but not necessarily painting what you see and two classes focus on landscape painting using copy, learning a technique that captures an impressionistic effect.
Individual attention is given to each student as time allows. A mini-critique will be given at the end of each class.
Anna Marie Zabielski is known for her impressionistic renderings expressed with bright, clean colors.
She is the recipient of numerous fine arts awards; a member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, an associate member of the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville, as well as a member of Gallery 50, Inc and the New Jersey American Artist’ Professional League.
She is a member and has served on the Board of the Cape May County Art League.
There is no charge for the class but class size is limited, therefore registration with a valid library card is required. A material list is available when registering.
