‘Standing Ovation’ Silver Screen Premier Brings Fame to Dancers

WILDWOOD — With many local cast members, including two of its choreographers, the movie musical “Standing Ovation,” will premier at two local theaters Fri., July 16 with special red carpet celebrations.
At 5 p.m. Fri., July 16, a red carpet premiere will take place at the Rio Stadium 12 Theatres, 3801 Route 9 South in Rio Grande.
Joanne Reagan appears in the film and was a choreographer with her daughter Ann.
Dancers from her studio appear in the film. She said Jim Linnington of Bayshore Lounge will host an arrival ceremony at the Rio Stadium 12.
The event is sold out. An after-screening party will be held at Wildwoods Convention Center. She said a ceremony would be held there as well.
“We’ll have a little bit of Hollywood in Wildwood,” said Reagan.
Another private premiere will also be held July 16 at the Moorlyn Theater in Ocean City followed by a reception at the Music Pier. That premier features actors Alanna and Alicia Palombo of Seaville.
“Standing Ovation,” has a cast of 50 with 10 original songs and 13 choreographed dance routines.
In 2008 and 2009, the crew filmed on the Wildwood Boardwalk, Lower Cape May Regional High School, Beach Avenue in Cape May and a rented storefront in the Acme shopping center in North Cape May.
The movie is opening in over 3,000 theaters nationwide on July 16. A preview of “Standing Ovation” is available at: http://www.standingovationmovie.com/
