OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is excited about the new movie Standing Ovation opening on July 16th. A red carpet event with a reception to meet the cast will be held at Moorlyn Stadium 4 Theatre, at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk in Ocean City.
The movie was filmed in South Jersey including scenes from Ocean City. Local star, nine-year old Alanna Palombo is from Ocean City and plays Alanna Wannabee, a singing and dancing sensation who is determined to be the youngest member of a girl group.
Standing Ovation is the story of five junior high school friends who with to compete in a music video contest for a cash prize of one million dollars. The friends form a group called “The 5 Ovations”. With limited resources, the girls compete against their arch rivals “The Wiggies” who will stop at nothing to win the competition.
Standing Ovation showcases 20 original songs, 5 classic tunes and 13 dance numbers that feature more than 100 talented dancers, most from the local area.
