Sensational Soul Cruisers to Play Free Concert

By Press Release

NORTH CAPE MAY – Combining the smooth vocals of the Temptations and Spinners, the dance music of Sly and the Family Stone with the Disco-era sound of Heat Wave, the Sensational Soul Cruisers will play a free concert July 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal.
The 11-man band features a horn section fronted by four soulful vocalists.
Under the tutelage of sax player Screamin’ Steve Barlotta, the band has catapulted from the recesses of a dingy basement to over 200 performances a year while capturing the true essence of the Jersey Shore sound and its rhythm and blues roots.
The band plays the sound of classic Philly Soul, Motown, Disco, Stax Records and the music of Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago.
The band has a mysterious connection to the movie and the real “Eddie and the Cruisers.”
Before becoming Soul Cruisers, members of the band backed up top national acts.
Bring a beach chair or blanket. Refreshments will be available at the show. Bring your dancing shoes because you won’t be able to stay in your chair for long.
The free concert is the result of a partnership between the Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation and the Delaware River and Bay Authority.
