‘Pitching & Publishing’ Beach Writers’ Retreat Set

COURT HOUSE — Spend the day with Sheree Bykofsky, literary agent and best-selling author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Getting Published, 5th Edition on Sat., March 23, at Natali Vineyards here. This one-of-a-kind workshop is an intensive seminar that will teach you the ins and outs of the publishing universe.
Topics include: What’s hot right now in both fiction and non-fiction; How to develop ideas with true commercial potential; How to write a query letter that really sells; How to locate and work with the right agent; How to craft an effective book proposal; What to realistically expect from a first book contract; Why becoming a published author is just like being a contestant on Wheel of Fortune!
A Q&A session will follow with a panel including Bykofsky, agent Katharine Sands, independent editor Paul Dinas, and founder of ComteQ Publishing in Margate, Rob Huberman. Afterward, the Natali Vineyard folks will host a wine tasting with plenty of time for networking. Natali Vineyards is located at 221 North Delsea Drive (North Rt. 47).
