Peabody Marching Ducks Make Stone Harbor Appearance

The famed Peabody Orlando Marching Ducks, in town for the 29th Annual Wings ‘n Water Festival, will make a special visit to downtown Stone Harbor on Saturday, September 17.
Barry Mastrangelo, Stone Harbor Council president and Councilwoman Judy Davies will serve in the capacity of honorary Duck Masters, and the whole retinue, Ducks and Duckmasters will proceed across Stone Harbor’s 96th Street on a red carpet to the tune of John Philip Sousa’s ‘King Cotton March.
Upon completion of the march Council members Mastrangelo and Davies will bestow a special ‘V.I.P. (Very Important Poultry) Award to Donald Tompkins, the official Duckmaster and the Peabody Orlando Marching Ducks, on behalf of the Borough.
Joann Del Vescio, tourism director for the Borough of Stone Harbor has arranged to have duck shaped cookies made and distributed to those in attendance as an edible (but short-lived) memento of the occasion.
The event takes place at 5 p.m. and the public is invited to witness the fun.
