VILLAS — The Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Road, will close on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 for renovations.
The library will temporarily relocate to the North Cape May Acme Shopping Center on Wednesday, Jan. 27 and remain open until upgrades are completed in late May.
Borrowed library material may be returned to any branch of the library. Patrons with requests should ask to have their material held for pick-up at a convenient library during this period.
No programs will be scheduled at the temporary location and book donations will not be accepted.
Improvements include increasing the existing area by 2,490 square feet for a total area of 10,170 sq. ft.
In addition to the current meeting room, this will allow for a new public meeting room with restrooms and a small kitchenette. A new up-to-date HVAC system will provide an energy-efficient process.
Additionally, there will be new accessible shelving, furniture and better lighting throughout the library and an enhanced parking lot with graded landscape for wheelchair accessibility. A storm water management system will be incorporated in the landscaping.
